Jeezy Talks Recording "Thug Motivation 103" & Taking Time Off

The Snowman explains why he's been missing from the game.

Young Jeezy stopped by Angie Martinez’s Hot 97 radio show on Thursday to premiere his new single “Shake Life”  and gave a few details on the process of recording his upcoming album Thug Motivation 103.
Jeezy said he first began to record in Miami but got too distracted by the celebrity scene. “It took a long time to get the direction I was going, but when I got in the zone everything locked up,” he said, explaining that he also needed a break in between projects.
“I had to go back and recollect because it got to a point where I was so far away from what I know and what was helping me articulate my music,” Jeezy said. “I’m on tour with [Lil] Wayne, so that’s that rapstar superstar life--and I love it by the way--but then I had to go back home just to see what was really real, so I could take that from the streets and spread the word.”
He also confirmed that “Shake Life” is the first official single from the album, despite the fact that “Ballin’”  debuted a few months earlier. Fans hoping for classic Jeezy might be in luck, “I didn’t want to get influenced by the label and what was going on, or what type of records people making, I make records for my people, I make records for the struggle.” and gave a few details on the process of recording his upcoming album Thug Motivation 103.

DJ Khaled Still Hopes For Eminem Collaboration

Mr. "We the Best" is still on the hunt for an ever-elusive collaboration with Slim Shady.

Nearly a year ago this day, DJ Khaled announced that he was hoping to record with one of rap's biggest stars, Eminem.
While that dream has yet to materialize, Khaled believes that it is a real possibility.
“I wanted Eminem,” said Khaled in an interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez. “I really want to make it happen, I think it’s gon’ happen.”
Shady, who is known for having a precious few allegiances outside of the Shady/Aftermath family (among them Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and T.I.), has not been easy to get a hold of, according to the Terror Squad deejay.
“I never really sat down and talked to him,” he explained. “I’m a fan of him and I’m cool with him, but he doesn’t know me like that. I really don’t know what route to get him.”
Khaled added that he has a track picked for the master lyricist. “Ya’ll A&R that.”

The multifaceted entertainer joins the cast alongside Meagan Good.

Chris Brown has joined the cast of the upcoming film adaptation of Steve Harvey’s bestselling book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. Production for the flick is already underway in Los Angeles, California.
Breezy joins a cast that already includes Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Kevin Hart, Regina Hall, Taraji P. Henson, Terrance J, Romany Malco, Gary Owen, Gabrielle Union, Lala Vazquez and Arielle Kebbel.
The film, directed by Tim Story (Barbershop) and produced by Will Packer (Stomp the Yard), follows “four interconnected and diverse friends [who] have their love lives shaken up after the women they are pursuing buy Steve Harvey’s book and start taking his advice to heart.”chris brown in movie

Leroy "Tony" Austin Sues Diddy For Shooting Outside Of Restaurant

The rapper/mogul has filed suit against the Bad Boy honcho for an incident that took place at his Justin's restaurant. Leroy "Tony" Austin has filed suit against Sean "Diddy" Combs following a November 2010 incident where he and a guest were shot outside of his Atlanta, Georgia franchise, Justin's Restaurant and Bar.According to the Associated Press, the former Def Jam A&R was invited to the restaurant as a guest but was left injured after arriving at the establishment. Filing suit in the U.S. District Court of Northern Georgia, Austin claims that Diddy failed to maintain a safe environment, citing that the restaurant's operators knew of "dangerous and hazardous conditions" and that they failed to provide adequate security on the property.

Drake Cancels Show Due To Death In The Family

Drizzy's  rep releases a statement regarding the cancellation of an Orlando show. Drake has canceled his concert stop tonight (July 16) in Orlando, Florida, due to a death in the family.A rep for the Toronto emcee issued the following statement:"We regret to announce that Drake will not be able to take the stage at Universal Orlando Resort due to a death in the family. He hopes that his fans understand the situation he finds himself  in and know that he fully intends to return to the area in the future.
